I am divorced without children, I work full time, I work shifts.

How could a 12 year old boy bully victim and a 25 yr old bored woman meet and be friends?

I mean just friends, obviously..They are two characters in my English essay...great characters but I dont know how to make them meet and BEGIN to form a relationship....

Any ideas?

How could a 12 year old boy bully victim and a 25 yr old bored woman meet and be friends?
Maybe in a library - he's hiding from bullies in the stacks and she, an avid reader, stumbles across him. Or a sporting goods store, or wedding dress shop, or a pet store.
Reply:ever saw "Man without a face" with mel gibson? similar situation.
Reply:they could meet at a book store or something. you could have the 12 year old looking at a book and the 25 year old see him and tell him its a good book and it can start off from there. or think of something that they both like to do and have them meet at a place where you do that, or just have them bump into each other randomly somewhere.
Reply:Internet chatroom. Enjoy the irony
Reply:The woman sees the boy being bullied on his way home from school, and she goes and tells the bullies to scram and asks him if he is alright and stuff. He is really grateful to her and keeps talking to her, and she is annoyed with him, but secretly enjoys his talking. So she ends up chatting back and they become friends.

How can a guy with no friends meet a girl?

As far as I seing, most couples get to know each other through friends, at parties or reunions, however I don't have any friends, so I don't go to parties, I being going to clubs by myself, but I still haven't get any luck finding a girlfriend, I'm really desperate.

How can a guy with no friends meet a girl?
Clubs are not always the best places to find girls because they know guys are looking to hook- up. Try places like the beach, bookstore, coffee shop, etc. Good luck
Reply:First of all, you should never be desperate for a girfriend. Thats really stupid. Second, why the heck don't you have any friends? youre such a loser!! My gosh, get a life!!!!!
Reply:aww..i loveee clubbss xD
Reply:first…

Make friends with girls that are nice and that you are atracted to,

Listen to what they have to say

Complement them

Make them feel special

Ask them to go out if you like them enough
Reply:If you are going to school, try and make friends because that is the only way you can find a girlfriend.
Reply:join a gym there is plenty of girls there
Reply:don't give up, you'll meet the right girl for you.
Reply:I found my quiet shy no friends husband online ... I'd say join a few clubs, get a few online accounts and go for it when you see a girl you like!

Reply:Well, I tried to read your profile...didn't find anything.

How serious are you about finding friends? You probably took a good first step by asking your question here.

I was working one day when this man walked in. I didn't notice him. But he asked my co-worker if I was seeing anyone %26amp; then he asked me to dinner. Simple...

If it doesn't work out, you try again with someone else.

Good Luck
Reply:go look on myspace.
Reply:A lot of people know each other through dating website or community services, why don't you try one of this? Or enrolling for a class in college is another chance.

Good luck!
Reply:funny you should ask this me and my boyfriend of over 1 year are about to get married. He is divorced and I have never been married. Neither one of us really go anywhere and have very few real friends. My mother went to get a haircut one day and he was there getting his hair cut. The beautician and my mom were friends and he happened to be the beauticians brother in law. My mom showed him pictures of me and gave him my number. Now I don't know what I would do without him. Fate happens when the time is right with or without friends. Hang in there you will find that someone when you least expect it!!
Reply:just be cool and dont be too shy... also dont go for just one type a girl... You may hve to shoot below your standards until you get used to being around girls so that your confidence grows.... try to find something intersting about the girl you are hitting on to talk about for a little while that you actually know stuff about. This will keep her intrigued but dont tell her your life story.
Reply:How don't you have any friends? Are you quite? Talk to me babies.
Reply:first off u cant be desprate cuz if u seem too easy then girls are not gonna give u a chance .... the way i see it is dat girls see guys like resturants if dey see dat no one wants some den why should they eat der so if u act desperate den dey know dat no one wants some so why should dey .... so all u gotta do is put urself out der and always be confident cuz yea u might get rejected but whats so bad .... and da first step to girls thinking ur datable is for u to think ur datable
Reply:myspace
Reply:wowow um have u ever considered trying to make friends?

if not maybe try online dating services
Reply:your not alone dude my guess would be online dating only option seeing as you have no friends
Reply:plentyoffish.com It free! It's a great way to meet new people.
Reply:Try joining a league of mixed doubles at the bowling alley or even a men's league to pick up a few friends.

At lunch go to a sandwich place and notice a woman who comes in alone without a ring sitting at a table by herself. Ask if you can join her. Tell her a little about yourself.

Is there a swim club or a gym of some sort that you could join?
Reply:well that is probably the problem, ppl can sense desperation. Join a club, volunteer some place. There are alot of ways to make friends and just because you have them doesn't mean you are gonna get a gf. I d say work on the friend issue first and the other will fall in to place by itself Good Luck
Reply:1st, why dont you have friends, you should try talking to random people at school or wherever you work if that doesnt work. Go to shopping malls, lots of girls around their, try your luck with them if that doesnt work go onto MTVs made or just my space, good luck
Reply:Gustavo, do not come across as desperate. Women pick up on this instantly. This is the equivalent of female repellent.

If you want to meet a variety of new people, view the profiles on a match or dating service. I joined Yahoo Personals for very little money, created an honest profile and had the opportunity to browse profiles for dozens of interesting women in my city.

It's a little odd at first, but after a few "hello" emails you will be able to tell gf material from women who just aren't good matches for you.

Change your attitude from "searching" to being confident and happy with yourself and you will start to attract women you didn't even know where out there.

Oh, and the instant you get a girlfriend, women will start approaching you and wanting to talk to you. I have no idea where (in the cosmos) this comes from, but it's true.

Good luck to the new you ~

What's a good way to meet new friends?

I'm painfully shy and I don't like making small talk. I'm currently going to community college and working full time. I'm not into meeting people on the internet because of all the risks involved. I getty really shifty and nervous around new people and people usually don't seem to like me much. the only friend I have is my husband. I've tried various activities to get out more but can't find anything I like all that much. And I'm not into bar hopping...

What's a good way to meet new friends?
Have you tried the library yet???

That might be down your alley.
Reply:Going to a church, and joining a singles/youth group. One that you have the SAME beliefs in is the best one.

Praying for you,

Reply:try new things, you have to know what you like, what type of music do you enjoy?, and then go to places where they have concerts or in small cafe's with that type of music, like literature?, go to a place where they talk about that, like sports?, etc., look for people that have an interest in what you have and take it from there, but I think It will start by chatting something in particular, so look for an atmosphere that you enjoy...good luck and be yourself, that is the point of it all and you will see that the shyness will disappear with people that you feel comfortable with
Reply:Going to Hamburger world!
Reply:Even though you're shy, you need to learn to be approachable. Go to events and participate in things, people like to talk. Though small talk seems dumb, it's an essential way to make friends.

Also, you want to be open when you meet someone, but not too open. In other words, you can discuss your favourite book with them, but not your hemorrhoid.
Reply:Ugh. You do have a dilemma. It would be easier if you there was an activity you enjoyed and then you could look for other like people. I am similar to you and recently made a discovery about making new friends: sometimes you have to make the effort.

Try posting your question here again and include your e-mail address (not your main e-mail - create one just for these responses). Chances are you're going to hear back from people just like you -- including me. Then you can build from there.

Then, as you meet people from your area, you suggest or start something: a book club, a travel club, going to a movie, a shopping date, a "shy girl's breakfast date", a get away from the kids, husband, work and school coffee meet: whatever you want. Or ask for suggestions. It might be easier to make one friend and have coffee than a club -- but one step at a time.

If you're in Chicago, count me in.
Reply:What are your interests? Have you thought of doing an activity that takes your mind off your shyness like a sport something that takes concentration and teamwork. You could also try walking groups as that tends to take the pressure of and is relaxed being outdoors. I found with my shyness that the only way sometimes was to be thrown in at the deep end as a with a waitress or bar maid job - it works as there is no option to be shy!
Reply:just be yourself aslong as u have someone u have no worries
Reply:join a club or an activity. you will find stuff to talk about with people there because you are obviuosly interested in whatever club you join

If I decided to make some water balloons and put them in a bucket and bring them to the park to meet friends?

and if the park is only 3-5 minutes away. Would they survive or pop?

Thanks! I'm contemplating doing that on this Hot day :)

Have a Great one and Keep cool okay?

If I decided to make some water balloons and put them in a bucket and bring them to the park to meet friends?
put water in the bucket as well.....put the ballons first....then water...they shall survive....all of them......enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:make the water real cold that'll get things going
Reply:Even without water in the bucket they will make it, you would have to heat them a lot before they will burst
Reply:yep.they will make the trip...what size bucket..water weighs 8.3lbs/gallon
Reply:Do not over fill them! A small Styrofoam cooler would be a better option than a bucket. Or better yet if water is available at park. Take balloons in package and fill them up there.

Once the "kids" start playing they do not last long. Take plenty.
