How do i meet new friends at a new school?

i just moved to a new town and have to go to a new school but im kinda shy and dont talk to anyone how do i make friends?

How do i meet new friends at a new school?
this will sound really cliche' but just be yourself.. don't spot out people that you think you should be with.. that's the wrong way to go about it.. like say some1 is next to in your first class or something.. you can just pick up on something that he/she likes to do and say something about that to strike up a conversation.. like oh i see you are wearing such and such shirt.. dont worry so much it'll come naturally
Reply:well, just be yourself.that's the key to make some of the most cherished friends in life.if a person likes u as u r then thank god for giving u a genuine friend.also, don't try to tag along a person or a group if they have no interest in u.this year even I have joined a new school and by god's grace have made some fabulous friends.so my dear friend,as we have now become friends, leave everything to god for he will see to it that u make fast friends and lead a comfortable life in school.also keep smiling!

Reply:i know first day at a new school would be difficult..but try to mingle with your classmates and for sure you'll find someone who can be your friend..learn to be assertive, and dont forget to smile!
Reply:well maybe join a few Clubs. At my old high school we did alot of work with partners thats a great oportunity to get to know people. i joined the Photography club and made alot of friends that i still talk to to this day
