How can I meet friends in a town I just moved to where I don't know anybody?

It depends on your situation. If you have kids then it's so much easier to meet new people. You just smile when dropping off your child at school. Or at the local shops, or at your new workplace, etc.


After becoming a little more familiar in whichever environment you're in make small talk. "Gosh the weather's been weird lately hasn't it?" or "Nice shoes!" or "I can't believe the price of sausages these days. They used to be a cheap meal!" etc


When a face has become a familiar one and the small talk is going well say "Would you like to grab a coffee/beer/etc?"


Actually that's how I've made friends, but for guys that approach might be a little odd. Join a gym, or sporting team, or church, or go to the same place on a regular basis (just not a playground unless you have kids...that would be creepy!)

Reply:Believe or not, you can meet some good people at a bar. Find a good ol' hole in the wall. A place where the music isn't so loud, where you can actually have a conversation.
Reply:Myspace sometimes helps with things like this. Talk to people there and become friends with them. This will make them more likely to like you.
Reply:Go to events or places that you have an interest in. Then talk to somebody. If you do not get along, talk to someone else. Or don't talk. Whatever you like to do. Or go to myspace.com, there's bound to be some people there from whatever town you are in.
Reply:Well, it depends on your age. Fidn out where people your age hang out. Go there and just observe. After a couple of times you'll get a feel for the people around there and feel a little better about approaching them.
Reply:A welcomming smile and willingness to accept new peoples will make it easy to make the whole world ur friends. U only need to say hi and tell abt urself and ask them thats it. I think our new friends are just a smile and a simple hi away from us. Be sweeet and all the bugs will be jumping on u.
