Where can i go to meet friends?
I think meeting people in places that you go to do things you enjoy is a good start since you are likely to meet someone that shares your interests. Meeting friends on the internet is nice, but having someone to hang out with that lives nearby is much nicer. Do you have neighbors? If so, they don't have to be your age..many of my good friends are older or younger than me. If you limit yourself to trying to meet people that are only your age you could miss the chance of these people introducing you to other people and sometimes this is one of the best ways to meet friends...(through other people). It seems that "finding" friends is hard to do. Most good friendships are formed just without really trying or thinking about it..it just seems more natural. Are you still in school? If so, try talking to someone that you don't really know and maybe invite them to go hang out and do something that both of you like. I have met most of my friends through work..I guess it's easier to make friends with people that you spend alot of time with because you kind of get to know them just by being around them alot. When I was in school, I met most of them in school. Do you go to places like the YMCA or church? If so you can always strike up a conversation with someone and take it from there. Think of something new you would like to learn how to do and maybe take a class and you'll be sure to meet potential new friends. Just be open minded and don't judge people by their looks, race, religion, age, whether or not they are handicapped...the possibilities are endless..and most likely you will meet other people through all the new people you meet. I used to have a bad habit of talking to people after overcoming my shyness and then when we decided to exchange phone numbers I would end up never calling them. (I guess I always waited for them to call first, and they were probably thinking the same thing).Now if someone gives me their number, I try to call them atleast once and see if they want to go to lunch or something or just to ask them how they are and tell them how much I enjoyed talking to them. It's really not that hard to meet new people..and make acquaintences..they usually don't become friends right off the bat and some of them you just dont "click" with. But like I said, just keep an open mind and relax and always be yourself and don't always be in the "looking for a friend" mode or you probably won't be relaxed and then it will be harder for you to just be yourself. People are attracted to people that seem happy and confident and down to earth. Again, I am sorry for such a long answer..hope it helps though. Good luck!

Taking classes is a great way to meet people





Overall your best bet is to find something that you are interested in doing and meet like minded people that way
