What is the best way to meet "friends" once you become a parent?

When your baby is old enough you can take him/her to the park. Libraries have certain days when they read books to little one's. If your baby goes to daycare you could strike up converasation with some of the other parents. Museums sometimes have things for little one's too. I would like to know what happened to all your friends you had before the baby?

What is the best way to meet "friends" once you become a parent?
Find a local Mom's Club or MOPS group. If you don't know where, call a couple of local churches. That's usually where they meet. Also try, Jazzercise or put an ad in your neighborhood newsletter to start a playgroup for new moms. While the babies are still young it'll be a great support system for you and as they grow it will become a basis for their first friendships.
Reply:YOU WON'T MAKE FRIENDS... YOU'LL STAY HOME ALL DAY LONG AND WATCH YOUR KID... :)
Reply:Daycare/School activities will expose you to a lot of other parents who also feel like social outcasts. Also, I take my 2 year old to the city pool to swim. Most kiddie pools I've seen are free, you can work on a tan, and talk to other mommies all while your little angel enjoys splashing around and making friends of their own.. Parks are great for this, too!
Reply:Try mommy and me class if your baby is old enough. Or....hey....just because you are now a parent, does NOT mean you are suddenly force to be a soccer mom. ALWAYS take some time for yourself here and there......take a class by yourself where you might meet people.....yoga, painting, nature study....whatever you're into.
