What's the best way to meet friends after relocating to a big city.?

I recent moved to DC area and Due to my job I can't hang out with the people I work with. Due to the lifestyle here and my age group. most people are married have kids or busy working two three jobs. I'm a single guy with no kids, and I still getting on my feet. But I need to get out and be social.

What's the best way to meet friends after relocating to a big city.?
There are a number of ways to meet new people, depending on your interest. One way would be to check on craigslist (I think it is washingtondc.craigslist.org for your area)- they have tons of groups and events listed on there for people wanting to make new friends... I just moved to Denver and am using it for that purpose. I am finding it very useful! Also, you could try volunteering. I started volunteering for Habitat for Humanity and have met some awesome people through that, as well. I like those two options because they are free and convenient, which are big pluses for me!

Good luck!
Reply:Play Adult Kickball. Ever since joining a kickball group in DC called NAKID (No, Adult Kickball Isn't Dumb), my social circle has expanded a LOT! They have free parties, booze bus trips, scavenger hunts, and happy hours. Their website is www.playnakid.com if you wanna check it out. Report It

Reply:You can get out adn we can meet. Im 19.
Reply:be a friend to have a friend
Reply:I suggest you to go to a club or so what introduce your self to people there , on the street and any where else tell who ever your looking for a person similar to you . After awhile you will find someone.
Reply:Ask around at work if there are any social organizations you can join. I joined a young professionals organization in the city where I live. There is also Lion's Club and Rotary Club. These are excellent ways to network, may not be the best for dating, but you will definately meet people.
Reply:well...as your name says go to a game store and see what kind of gamer clubs they have...go to church...look on the community channel your cable service has they sometimes have listings of clubs in the area...try the library...you might meet others with your interests...volunteer...join a gym...good luck!
Reply:join some clubs
Reply:clubs, organizations, web site, wrong numbers (lol, JK), meet one person and become real good friends with them, I bet you'll manage to meet lots of different people then. Pick up a pencil for someone when it drops, showing good gestures mean the world to people. Just don't try to be perfect. People hate that.
