Join some clubs and start coming out of your shell. Find people who are into the same things you are into and then start making dates. Be yourself though. Don't try to be something or someone your not. I mean if we were all the same then this world would be boring. HAVE FUN that's the most important thing are you having fun???

get a hobby . there are interest groups and clubs for certain topics/activities/hobbies. this way, the people you meet, you already have thing in common with. just spending time with people presents the opportunity for friendship (i.e.- coworkers).
Reply:be spontaneous, outgoing, but be yourself. Show everyone what type of person you are. but most of all communication is the thing, u can't make friends without talking to them.
