I think some people use it as a social place.

Why do you come on answers? To meet friends or get info?
To find information and to share information.





Oh and asking questions that get people all fired up is an added bonus.

Having been in Current Events for a few months, I take the more well known avatars as.... ICONS... or at least as... BRAND names. If I see a particular well known avatar, I normally know what type question or answer it is.


Some people here pose some very good questions and pick some very good topics. I must say I include '17pdr' because he fishes some great points about the McCann case.


I like the well balanced answers of "seven", for example.


And although I think that "michael w" 's view of the McCann case is appalling, LOL, I never miss any of his answers.





There are so many other 'regulars' who make this place worth coming back to day after day.


I have also noticed that insults and bad language have diminished.





Also, somehow people have become more polite in Current Events. Words like "cheers", "thanks", abound and that is great.





Finally, if what everyone calls 'trolls' still exist and are still around... they don't appear to damage the place very much. Current Events is still the best section in Yahoo Answers.
Reply:I come to learn anything that I can about subjects I`m interested in. Also to answer questions if there is something I know a little about.


I don`t chat, mainly because I am actually quite reserved until I know a person well, then there`s no shutting me up.


I enjoy seeing others having fun, it`s amusing.
Reply:I use it to try to solve someones question and have answered thousands of questions. The only problem that I have found is there is always some di*k head who, because he or she does not agree with you or has taken a personal dislike to you can report you and you will then get a violation, suspension or even written abuse. I have had all 3 happen to me to many times.I have also found out to my cost that you get no support from Yahoo whose appeal section is a complete waste of time.

Reply:Funny, I've never met anyone on answers. Just answer questions in a reasonable manner. Kind of fun, and passes the time when I have a few minutes in between errands.
