How can I meet new people and make new friends inexpensively and limited free time?

What is an inexpensive way to make new friends and meet new people with a busy schedule??

Reply:If you like animals, get a dog and take it for walks in the park, especially on weekends. Go to church; they usually have youth groups. Take up a hobby, like stamps, coins, and go to their conventions and clubs. Join a political club. Take up participatory sports like line skating, bicycling, sailing, hiking, canoeing--join some clubs. Go to the library--they usually have newspapers with community activities. The world is full of lonely people looking for someone to communicate with. Good luck.
Reply:Well, we should begin by finding out what your interests are. Here is a good example: When I was in college, I loved to play tennis, but often had trouble finding a partner. I would hang out at the tennis courts (racket in hand), and wait for one of the players to take a break, then ask if I could join in for a set...I met ALOT of cool people that way.

Also, do not overlook the internet. No matter what your interests are, there is bound to be a chat room specifically for people with the same game.

The next time you visit a restaurant, sit at the bar (instead of a table)...it's much more social. Often, you will strike up a conversation with someone who lives nearby, and enjoys dining at the same restaurant you do... This works best during lunch or the early part of the dinner hour (so it doesn't appear that you are on the prowl) lol. I work as a bartender several nights per week, and often see people exchanging phone numbers to go fishing, bowling or dancing. It's quick, straight-forward and there is no pressure. Good luck!
